Our school seeks a professional, experienced and passionate educator to teach Spanish to Middle School grades 6th, 7th and 8th. The qualified candidate will have teaching experience at the middle school level, background, interest, and passion for teaching Spanish, and a bachelor’s degree in a related educational field. Successful candidates will have sound pedagogical skills, highly developed writing and organizational skills, experience teaching Spanish, a growth mindset, positive resolve, follow through, and the desire to build positive and meaningful relationships with students in a manner consistent with our child-centered, integrated, and developmentally appropriate curriculum. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to build on a well-established and successful Spanish program that also includes an annual cultural exchange program with a school in Costa Rica. Position also entails homeroom and advisory responsibilities at the middle school level.
Candidates should have experience working in a diverse setting and demonstrate a commitment to co-creating a racially just and inclusive learning community. Advanced degree preferred but not required.

Greene Street graduates attend the top private and public magnet high schools, the largest percentage attending Central High School. Since the mid-1960’s the school has implemented a mission-based business model that prioritizes financial accessibility, with an enrollment of 45% - 55% students of color. Over the past twenty years, the school has doubled both in enrollment and campus size. Current enrollment is 320 students on a campus of three acres. The annual budget is $5M, no debt.
