Founded in 1922, Norwood Hills Country Club is one of the premier, and historic private clubs in the St. Louis area. The Wayne Stiles designed course features 36 holes with Bentgrass greens, as well as unique Zoysia fairways and tees. Norwood Hills was home to the 1948 PGA Championship won by Ben Hogan as well as countless other championship events including the 2018 U.S. Women's Mid-Am Championship. The club will also over the next four years host the Ascension Charity Classic, a PGA Champions Tour event beginning in September 2020.
Norwood Hills has a history of promoting from within; our two current Superintendents began as Assistant Superintendents.
Norwood Hills is searching for a self motivated individual to take on the role of Assistant Superintendent. The employee will work closely with the East Course Superintendent as well as other Superintendents to provide the best golf experience for members.
The East Course Assistant Superintendent will report directly to the East Course Superintendent and fill in when the Superintendent is absent, some of the duties included but not limited to:
General Course Maintenance
Supervising and Scheduling Staff
Training Staff on Equipment
Ability to Work 40+ Hours during Summer Months
Good Communication Skills
Knowledge of the Game
2-4 year Turf/Agronomy/Horticulture Degree (Preferred)
1 year Experience of Golf Course Maintenance (Preferred)
Possess a Valid Driver's License
Ability to Obtain a State Pesticide Applicator License
Working Knowledge of Basic Golf Course Practices including: Course setup, Bentgrass greens, Zoysia fairways, Ornamental trees and shrubs, Irrigation and Drainage control, Pest/Weed and Turfgrass Identification
Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel

Norwood Hills Country Club, also known as North Hills Country Club, is a country club located in Jennings, Missouri. Norwood Hills Country Club has a rich tradition and history dating back to the 1920s, when Norwood found its beginning as North Hills Country Club. It has an excellent youth golf program, and is the home course to Lutheran High School North. Norwood is very youth oriented and friendly. It is also known for its high value to cost ratio compared to other area country clubs. The club has hosted many prestigious events including the National Left-Handed Golfer's Championship in 1936 and 1940, the PGA Championship in 1948 won by Ben Hogan, the LPGA Tour's St. Louis Women's Invitational from 1965 to 1969, the PGA Tour's Greater St. Louis Golf Classic in 1972 and 1973, the U.S. Senior Amateur in 2001, and the U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur in 2018.
