The Oakridge School seeks a dynamic, energetic, and knowledgeable English Teacher for Grades 9-12 beginning August 2020. The ideal candidate grows through networking and lifelong learning, models outstanding character and empathy with a heart for upper school-aged students, and demonstrates flexibility and teamwork. This teacher maintains a student-centered, innovative classroom where students build an appreciation and love for English. A skilled relationship builder, he or she communicates well with students, parents, and colleagues, invests in the school community, and understands the importance of family and school in developing the whole child.

Other Job Functions:
Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by school policy.
Serve on committees as assigned.
Remain current on instructional practices in education. (e.g. instructional technology).

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in English preferred, with experience teaching upper school-aged students with a variety of learning styles.
