Job involves collaborating to integrate science into middle school theme-based units (place-based, project-based, citizen science), supporting high school students in their online science curriculum, and teaching STEM/Makerspace labs to elementary-middle school students, with the possibility of an afterschool program development.
Position requires a demonstrated ability to:
Facilitate student learning across grade levels
Create and teach relevant, integrated, place and project-based middle school science
Create and teach STEM/Makerspace classes for elementary through middle school students.
Work cooperatively and collaboratively with staff
Teach using our preferred online, accredited high school program to support student learning
Support students in pacing, progress, goal setting, study skills, and understanding of material
Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with students and parents about progress.
Must have a valid teacher certification in Secondary Science, or demonstrate highly qualified education and experience in the field, as well as hold a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. At least two years of prior science teaching preferred with experience with high school level content.
