Established in 1900, Seattle Golf Club is an 18-hole private club located in North Seattle. The course was redesigned by Arnold Palmer in 1996, built a new maintenance facility in 2000 and installed an excellent Toro irrigation system in 2007. For over 70 years, the club hosted prestigious amateur championships such as the US Amateur, Walker Cup, USGA Senior Amateur, Men’s PAC 10 Championship and the Pacific Coast Amateurs.
Candidate is responsible, but not limited to, perform daily activities on the course, staff leadership, application and supervision of a yearly nutrition and pesticide program, staff recruitment and bi-yearly evaluations, decisions on hiring and disciplinary action, weekly payroll monitoring, schedule staff training and safety meetings, record keeping, irrigation set up and adjustments, expected to correctly identify PNW diseases, insects and weeds, consult with local vendors on product ordering and education, support best course management practices, attend monthly green committee meetings, management retreat and daily staff meetings.
Our ideal candidate will possess skills to communicate effectively to a diverse staff, express ideas to improve the overall program, lead by example each day and be organized in a dynamic golf atmosphere. The ability to speak bilingual is a plus. Candidate is expected to have a passion for the golf industry and a willingness to put in the time to succeed. Must have strong desire to learn/develop skills in becoming a Golf Course Superintendent. Must acquire a Washington State Pesticide License within 90 days of employment.
2 or 4-year degree/certificate in Turfgrass Management or equivalent program.
2-3 years’ in a private club setting is preferred. An internship experience at a private club or resort is strongly recommended. Preference is an individual that plays and enjoys the game of golf.

The course has wonderful views of the Olympic Mountains and Puget Sound along with a wide variety Northwest tree species. The Club has always strived to maintain and perpetuate amateur golf in the Pacific Northwest; an objective that is preserved today. Seattle Golf Club has an extensive history of hosting prestigious golf competitions. The club has hosted the 1927 Western Amateur, 1952 USGA Amateur Championship, 1961 Walker Cup, 1981 USGA Senior Amateur, the Pacific Coast Amateur in 1967, 1987, 1999 and 2016, and the NCAA Men’s PAC-10 Championship in 1999.
