Maclay School is accepting applications for an Upper Elementary Teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. We are interested in candidates who are dedicated, have a radiant love of children and are willing to commit, wholeheartedly, to nurturing and working with their students. This position will start August 2020.

Requirements/Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate Include:
A demonstrated growth-minded approach and commitment to continuous professional development
Facility and capacity with designing and leading whole group, small group, and individual instruction
Knowledge of and experience using reading and writing workshop (Columbia Teachers College model)
Knowledge of and experience using Eureka Math
Knowledge of and experience with the Understanding by Design framework
Expertise in using differentiated instruction to reach a range of learners
Knowledge of and experience with standards-referenced curriculum and assessment
Strong interpersonal communication skills and experience establishing robust partnerships with parents
Strong collaboration skills
Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, Master’s Degree preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years experience teaching elementary students (preferably in an independent school, or like-kind school setting)
About Maclay School
Maclay School is a private, independent, non-sectarian college preparatory school located on 100 beautiful acres in northeast Leon County, Florida, about ten miles north of the state capitol building. It is dedicated to providing a liberal arts education, enabling each student to develop the inherent ability to the fullest extent with a balance of discipline and freedom. A group of parents founded the school in 1968 naming it in memory of Alfred B. Maclay, Jr., a World War II veteran whose mother was a major benefactor. The 2016-17 school year will be the 49th year for Maclay, now under the leadership of James Milford who is in his third year as Head of School.
