The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent reports to the Golf Course Superintendent. Brook-Lea CC is looking for a hard-working, motivated individual to support our golf course operations and maintenance programs, learn from an experienced superintendent with a desire to eventually become a superintendent.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent include:
All phases of golf maintenance and agronomic operations including:
Turf grass/plant material maintenance programs.
Scheduling/maintenance of irrigation systems.
Pesticide applications and related record keeping and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Provide technical, operational and safety training for employees to ensure the staff is working with OSHA, Club safety, state and federal guidelines for safe working conditions.
Recruit, supervise, motivate and retain grounds crew staff.
Prepare and maintain daily, monthly and annual reports and records as assigned.
Attend and participate in ongoing continuing education, and professional development. Stays current with licensing requirements.
1 to 2 years of experience as an Assistant Superintendent or similar positions preferred.
Valid NYS Drivers’ License.
Current NY Pesticide Application License
Advanced knowledge of agronomy and turf grass management practices.
Working knowledge of golf facility construction principles, practices and methods.
