The Village of Lake in the Hills Community Services Department welcomes applications for the position of Recreation Superintendent. This position reports to the Community Services Director and is responsible to assist in the administrative oversight, leadership, planning, coordinating and management of the Recreation Division. Key responsibilities include managing and directing the day-to-day operations of the Recreation Division, by providing leadership to staff, recreation programs, and events.
The Recreation Superintendent will be a supporting member of the Village management team and should have expertise in Recreation, preferably within a government agency. Candidates with experience managing a team coupled with strong development and analytical skills will be best suited for this role. Leadership qualities should include open communication, collaboration, and an independent drive that inspires new and creative ideas on serving the community.
Bachelor's Degree in Parks and Recreation Administration or related field and eight (8) years of related work experience in recreation or leisure activities, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Job candidates must have previous supervisory experience of both full time and part time staff and a valid driver’s license. Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) strongly preferred.

Lake in the Hills has beautiful lakes, with Woods Creek Lake being the largest with two swimming areas - Indian Trail Beach and Butch Hagele Beach. Goose Lake, Willow Lake and Lake Scott are all shallow lakes. Goose Lake is utilized mainly for fishing while Willow Lake and Lake Scott are wildlife ponds.
