St. Francis School is a co-ed, non-denominational Independent School founded in the Progressive tradition. Our campuses are in two locations -- Goshen (Preschool-8th Grade) and Downtown Louisville (High School). We seek a Middle School Math Teacher (possible Math Department Chair) for the 2020-21 school year. Assignments change regularly; candidates should be comfortable and willing to teach up through Geometry to 8th graders, as well as older Lower School math students. We require a bachelor’s degree in a math-related field, as well as an MAT or an MA in a related field, and a minimum of three years' experience as a math instructor. An understanding of Independent Schools, experience with differentiated instruction, strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, the ability and desire to work collaboratively, and dedication to continuously developing and practicing cultural competence in one’s teaching are also essential. Additional responsibilities may include homeroom/advisor duties and academic team coaching; the ability/willingness to coach athletic teams is a plus. Please email resume and cover letter to Reed Gabhart, Head of Goshen Campus, at Rgabhart@stfrancisschool.org.
* Please note that St. Francis, like many schools, is currently closed due to COVID-19 and has transitioned to a remote learning model. We are prepared to conduct the interview process remotely, as well, and hope to hire our new teacher on an only slightly delayed timeline.
