Tandem Friends School, a co-ed, Quaker, 5th-12th grade independent day school in Charlottesville, Virginia, anticipates an opening for an Upper School English Teacher for the 2020-2021 school year.
Throughout our program, TFS students are challenged to read and think critically, write with insight, creativity and precision, and discuss their ideas with supportive classmates and teachers.

The ideal candidate will possess:
a relevant advanced degree and at least 3-5 years of teaching experience,
ability to collaborate across the disciplines with colleagues in curriculum and lesson design,
a strong understanding of the developmental needs of adolescents,
experience with curriculum design, and student-centered teaching and learning practices,
a demonstrated ability to work with a diversity of student backgrounds and learning styles.
