Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of GRADE FOUR HEAD TEACHER to inspire and guide the learning of Grade Four students in all core subjects, including social-emotional learning. The successful candidate will possess excellent content knowledge; a passion for teaching and learning; creativity and a thirst for innovation; enthusiasm for working with students, families, and colleagues; a growth mindset; and a sense of humor. She or he will be able to inspire and empower students to learn; collaborate and engage in daily conversation and experiences with students and colleagues; write well; and commit to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Collaborate with grade-level partners to teach core subjects.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
Regularly update curriculum to reflect school priorities; the school’s values of diversity, equity, and social justice; and 21st century skills.
Assess student progress and adjust teaching plans accordingly.
Share student skills development with families through well-crafted reports and thoughtful parent-teacher conferences.
Maintain strong communication with families and all relevant stakeholders through appropriate records/documentation, notes and emails, and in-person discussions.
Actively participate in a positive school culture through shared duties, faculty meeting discussions, special events, committees, club leadership, and professional development
Mentor associate teacher to utilize a wide array of instructional strategies, develop student-centered learning units, and become an integral member of a professional learning community.ten and oral feedback on student progress consistently throughout the school year
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Elementary education, or related field required; Master’s preferred.
Experience: 3 years of teaching elementary-aged students. Familiarity with Google Classroom and other Google Suite products preferred.
