CBRE|HEERY is looking for a Project Superintendent- Construction QC Inspector to assist our project team on a parking garage structure for the State of Virginia DGS in Richmond, VA.
The Superintendent- Construction QC Inspector is responsible to perform quality assurance inspections on ongoing renovation, alteration, and repair projects to verify workmanship, materials, and equipment are in compliance with the contract drawings and specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for hands on management, supervision and coordination of all subcontractors and general conditions work on construction job sites.
Continuous coordination of work in the field, anticipation of the upcoming work and analysis and resolution of any conflicts between contract documents, owner's intentions and field conditions.
Reviews and analyzes shop drawings and owner project information for constructability.
Primary oversight and resolution of safety issues for the entire project.
Participates in schedule development and management.
Works as part of the project team to provide good and ethical management and supervision and deliver contractual responsibilities with the highest standards of quality, schedule and financial performance.
Maintain inspection records.
Maintain a list of deficiencies and omissions.
Review contractor's as-built drawings.
Plan and Coordinate inspections.
Review contractor's pay applications for accuracy against work in place.
Continuous coordination of work in the field, overseeing all work and identifying any conflicts between contract documents, owner's intentions and field conditions.
Reviews and analyzes shop drawings, contract documents and as-built drawing.
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May lead project teams and/or plan, and supervise assignments of lower level employees.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or university program certificate or minimum ten years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred: Experience with ground-up construction. 5-10 years of experience with parking structure construction, roadway, structural construction experience. Extensive experience in quality control, inspection practices.
Certifications and Licenses
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.
Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills
