To instruct grades PreK through grade four in Spanish through a variety of experiences, while also teaching the culture of Spanish speaking nations. We are seeking an energetic and hard-working individual, who is good at connecting with students, faculty, and parents. The instructor should be creative in the use of age-appropriate techniques and technologies, a strong communicator, and excited to work with children.
The Spanish teacher is a part time member of the school faculty and is responsible for all of the duties that accompany the position. The primary responsibility is to teach Spanish to students in grades PreK to grade four. Potential exists for the position to become full time.
The position has many functions. These include but are not limited to: Works with the World Language Department in providing a strong foreign language program for PreK through Grade 8.
Possesses solid Spanish speaking skills.
Integrates technology into the Spanish curriculum (SMART Board, etc.).
Evaluates student progress in comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing the Spanish language in relationship to the level being taught.
Maintains contact with students and parents through teacher conferences, phone calls, email, and regular updates to the classroom Canvas page, as well as written semester reports twice per year.
Conducts regular assessments of student learning and work as appropriate for each age group.
