Big Cedar Lodge is the premiere golf destination of the Midwest, with five golf courses, located in the Missouri Ozarks just South of Branson, MO. The current job opening is for a Assistant Superintendent at our Ozarks National Golf Course. Ozarks National a design by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, is an 18 hole championship course, that was recently named “The Best New Golf Course in America in 2019”.
Big Cedar hosted the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf PGA Champions Tour event from 2014-2019.
Besides Ozarks National, Big Cedar Golf also offers Buffalo Ridge, a Tom Fazio design 18 hole championship course, which is ranked #1 by GolfWeek as the best golf facility in Missouri, Mountain Top, a Gary Player design 13 hole par 3 course, Top of The Rock, a Jack Nicklaus design par 3 course, that is the only par 3 course to ever host a PGA tour event, and Payne’s Valley, a Tiger Woods design 18 hole championship course that is slated to open late summer 2020.
The selected candidate should be able to manage the daily operation of the golf course. Those task would include, but are not limited to; management of staff, implementation of cultural practices, irrigation scheduling, and planning and supervision of small projects.
Education and/or Experience: Turf degree strongly preferred, and one to three years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
