The Nightingale-Bamford School seeks a 4th grade homeroom teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with 4th grade students and an eagerness to collaborate with others. The candidate must demonstrate a strong interest in and understanding of child development, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, take initiative, and display an innovative spirit. The candidate should be committed to teaching about social justice issues and? driven to explore ways to reach all learners through differentiated instruction and student-centered practices. Finally, the candidate must be fluent in the use of technology and well versed in classroom management techniques and a variety of assessment methods.
Minimum of five years’ experience in elementary education.
Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills and leadership qualities.
Demonstrated organization and planning skills; strong attention to detail, as well as
follow-up and follow-through skills to ensure completion of goals and objectives.
Strong background and familiarity in teaching reading, math and social studies skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ease in effectively prioritizing multiple competing tasks and demands.
Commitment to the mission of the Nightingale-Bamford School, as well as theschool’s ongoing commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Teach reading skills, mathematics, English, social studies, Visual Education and SEL.
Oversee the social and emotional development of all students in the homeroom and maintain regular contact with 4th grade families.
Collaborate as part of a grade-level team to continuously improve curriculum and instruction.
Use grade-level guidelines to assess and evaluate students throughout the year, maintaining records and writing report cards accordingly.
