The Athletic Director oversees and builds sports and athletic programs founded on Christian student-athlete principles. We are currently looking for an experienced, innovative, effective communicator and leader to serve as the current 5th-9th grade Athletic Director, part-time K-9th Physical Education/Health teacher and head coach for needed sports. This person supports the Cross Schools mission statement, shares his/her testimony, and signs a Christian Statement of faith. This role hires coaches and prepares budgets for team travel, training, equipment purchases and facility maintenance. This person works with coaches and external agencies to help players succeed. The Athletic Director also participates in conferences, collaborates with league officials and coordinates umpires and referees. The Athletic Director will teach PE/health classes 50% of the time and serve as Athletic Director 50% of the time. A Physical Education Teacher's license is required. A sports-related Masters Degree is preferred.
Athletic Director Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Building and adding on to the existing 5th - 9th Grade sports programs
Providing leadership and guidance for sports activities and programs
Preparing budgets for athletic programs and allocating athletic funds
Supervising purchase and maintenance of athletic equipment and facilities
Acting as liaison with selectors, leagues and government agencies
Coordinating with coaches on team travel, game scheduling and practice sessions
Peparing and presenting reports on team performance and needs for improvement
Ensuring that students are eligible to participate in a given sport
Part-time PE/Health teaching for K-9th grade
Head coaching needed sport(s)
5 or more years of progressively responsible positions
Additional Salary Information: The Athletic Director may elect to participate in Cross School's health insurance and retirement plans. Annual vacation of 20 days and 12 sick days.
