Work with students with identified intellectual and developmental differences in a private school setting and self-contained classrooms.
Utilize established ULS (Unique Learning System) curriculum in individual, group and distance learning instruction.
Develop appropriate IEPs based on student's strength and needs.
Maintain accurate and complete student records and prepare required reports on children and activities.
Monitor student progress, participate in review and revision of IEP, as appropriate.
Employ special education strategies and techniques during instruction to improve the academic growth, social-emotional language and independence.
Abide by school established professional code of ethics.
Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question and investigate.
Teach personal development skills such as goal setting, independence, organization and self-advocacy.
Encourage students to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks.
Minimum 2 years classroom experience preferred.
