The Awty International School is seeking for the 2020-2021 school year and beyond a Secondary School English Teacher to teach Option internationale du Baccalauréat (OIB) English plus either Middle School English or Theory of Knowledge (TOK) in the International Program.

A. or equivalent in English or a related field
An ideal candidate:
Experience teaching English in the OIB program in the French system or IB English.
Experience in teaching an advanced English curriculum to students for whom English is not necessarily their first language.
At least three years’ experience teaching English strongly preferred
Experience in teaching the OIB program in the French system
Working knowledge of French
Experience teaching MS English
Experience teaching TOK
The English Teaching Position Expectations
Be a team player
Have some knowledge of the French National Curriculum
Prepare OIB style exams, appropriate homework, quizzes, and essay assignments
Teach multiple preparations
Maintain a student-centered classroom
Work collaboratively within the English Department and the French Program
Focus on activities that develop understanding of and appreciation for the writing process
Communicate in a timely and appropriate manner with parents
Employ appropriate technology in the classroom
Contribute to curricular and school reviews
Actively participate in school activities
