Oldfields School, an all-girls international boarding and day school, 8-12 in northern Baltimore County, is seeking an experienced Spanish teacher. This is an outstanding opportunity for a person with a high degree of integrity and a keen interest and deep commitment to the value of single-sex independent school education.
Teaching duties will include the following, in adherence to Oldfields School Policies and Procedures:
Instruct students in beginning-level to advanced-level Spanish, adhering to the written curriculum and guided by the School’s Mission Statement.
Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students.
Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students'
Prepare, administer, grade tests and assignments and complete Interims and Report cards to evaluate students' progress in a timely manner.
Maintain regular communication about students’ academic progress with students, parents, advisors, and the Director of Academics. This includes the use of Class Pages and FAWeb, the on-line gradebook, in accordance with the required schedule.
Timely completion of: duties, email response and meeting attendance are required.
Conform to the policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook with special attention to the Faculty Policies and Procedures section.
A. or M.A. in Spanish or other closely related field is required.
Strong candidates will have an interest in participating in the extracurricular and residential life of the school.
