New Direction Golf Management is seeking a highly motivated, energetic team leader as the Head Superintendent of the Gauntlet Golf Club. New Direction Golf Management has assembled a well-rounded, high competent group of individuals that excel in their departments, starting from the top down.
The best candidate will be eligible for a compensation of 55K to 60K to include medical / dental / vision and vacation pay depending on education and experience.
The position will oversee all turf and landscaping maintenance to include Bermuda grass driving range, 3 acres of bent grass greens, 2.5 acres of Bermuda grass tees, 23 acres of Zoysia fairways and 75 acres of tall fescue roughs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Monitor all turf types and develop necessary agronomic strategies to sustain the best possible playing conditions.
Work directly with mechanic to ensure equipment is cutting to company standards
Implement and enforce comprehensive safety programs for employees
Communicate regularly with other departments on course conditions, maintenance plans and scheduled projects.
Manage routine and special irrigation procedures.
Develop agronomic plan to include fertilizer, pesticide, fungicide, micro nutrients, growth regulators and wetting agent applications.
Work with course owner to develop a fiscally responsible chemical and labor budget
2 to 4 years experience as a Head Superintendent in the transition zone of the Middle Atlantic area.
Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two year college
Preferred: 4 year Degree from a credited college in Agronomy/ Horticulture / Soil Science.
