The Lang School is a progressive, private K-12 school for twice-exceptional (2e) learners. Our students are gifted and high potential learners with diagnosed learning challenges, such as dyslexia, ADHD, anxiety, or high function autism. Each class is capped at 8 to 12 students. Master's and doctoral-level therapeutic staff (SPs, SLPs, Learning Specialists, and OTs) collaborate with master’s level teachers and staff developers on all aspects of student education and development. We are in growth mode and looking for two full-time School Psychologists to work closely with students, faculty, and families in supporting individual student goals across the areas of social, emotional, behavioral, and academic well being and success.
Lang SPs enjoy exceptional access to professional development, peer supervision, and a strong sense of community support from school leadership to colleagues to parents. Candidates must commit to training in DBT STEPS-A and Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (Ross Greene’s CPS), at the school’s expense this summer. Our SPs have cost-free use of their school offices for pediatric patients from 5:15p.m. onwards weekdays, as well as on weekends. Salaries are commensurate with training and experience; benefits include health insurance, generous sick/personal leave, DoE holidays, and access to a 401k plan and Transitchek.
Collaborate closely with faculty, administration, support personnel, outside providers, and parents.
Conduct observations and collect/interpret data to identify developmental and cognitive needs of students.
Provide effective 1:1 counseling on-site, including crisis intervention & support.
Monitor, support, and document psychological services for students. Prepare comprehensive reports about individual students twice yearly.
Based on all information and evaluations available, create and update Learner Profiles.
Participate in the Admissions process via student observations and feedback. Partner with the Admissions team in creating, implementing, and supervising transition plans for mid-year student entrants.
Full licensure as a school psychologist at the PsyD or PhD level highly preferred.
License-eligible, doctoral-level school psychologists will be considered (ABD), depending on the extent of applicable clinical and school experience to date. School psychologist certification required.
Previous work in schools (exclusive of internship) required.
Familiarity and alignment with our mission and core programs (CPS, PBIS, DBT/CBT, OTMP & DRCs) required. Expertise in executive functions, ADHD, and autism preferred.
