The Pingry School seeks a talented and experienced part-time Strings Teacher to instruct students at our Lower and Upper Schools. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching children of all ages and levels of ability, working with students in small groups and individually, and preparing them for and leading them in performances.
Teach Grades 4 and 5 String ensemble classes of different skill levels
Teach two sessions of after school enrichment string class (K-3)
Lead and direct the string ensemble in Holiday concert and Spring concert
Teach Upper School Strings twice a week throughout the school year.
Lead and direct Strings in two concerts in the fall and two in the spring.
Two days a week, 1:40pm-4:30pm in Short Hills
Two days a week, 2:40pm-3:25pm in Basking Ridge
Experience working with elementary- and highschool-aged students (preferred)
Knowledge of string pedagogy
Prior experience leading small and large groups of students in performances
Passion and enthusiasm for teaching kids about orchestral music
