Responsible for organizing and supporting retention efforts in conjunction with university, college/school, and/or departmental leadership.Â The director develops and provides campus stakeholders the plans and resources necessary for implementing retention efforts. The director also oversees EAB Success Collaborative implementation, including the associated EAB end user support specialist.
15%Â Analyze enrollment data and provide reports disaggregated by program, department, and college to collaboratively set strategic targets for student retention
15% Coordinate activities to meet university, college/school, department and/or discipline retention goals, specifically working with partners across campusÂ
15% Plan and direct communication efforts, working with college/school leadership to equip respective areas with relevant communication tools and communication timelines
10% Assess university retention efforts and provide frequent updates to university leadership
10% Advocate for and monitor EAB Success Collaborative efforts by providing training for college/school key personnel to efficiently use EAB as a retention tool
10%Â Lead university efforts to re-enroll students in conjunction with college/school leadership
5% Promote student attendance efforts in all colleges to increase faculty use of EAB as a retention tool
10% Remain current with the research literature and field on topics specifically addressing student retention and recommend alternatives to current practices as needed
5% Collaborate with the Testing, Tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, Mentoring, Developmental Education and other relevant units to plan and implement a student transition process that includes opportunities for all students to learn about transfer pathway programs
5% Perform other duties as assigned. Â
Required Education and Experience
Masterâ™s Degree in Business Administration, Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Education, Social Work, Sociology, or a closely related field with eight years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience, OR a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Education, Social Work, Sociology, or a closely related field with ten years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge and understanding of University organization, goals, and objectives, and policies and procedures; Knowledge and proficiency in EAB Success Collaborative; Â Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft applications; Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; Possess exceptional organization and interpersonal skills within a multi-cultural environment; Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evening or weekend assignments; Ability to travel to different campuses; Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff.
