Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of MIDDLE SCHOOL SPANISH TEACHER. The ideal candidate will be eager to work with Middle School students in a range of various language levels; have a sense of humor; demonstrate strong organizational skills; and enthusiastically collaborate with a team of Spanish teachers within the context of a caring and dynamic middle school community.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
3 classes in Middle School and 1 in the Upper School
Eagerness to work with students on an individual basis, as need be
Ability to keep accurate grades, effectively and supportively communicate with students and families, and provide written and oral feedback on student progress consistently throughout the school year
Assume role as an advisor for a group of students (approximately 7)
Advise a club or activity and supervise a periodic study hall
Demonstrate energetic commitment to professional development
Attend and contribute to meetings during and after the school day, including but not limited to departmental, committee, divisional and grade-level meetings
Accompany students on occasional curricular trips
Attend community events throughout the school year
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or related disciplines required. Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience: 2-5 years of teaching experience in a middle school environment preferred
