Wye River Upper School is seeking a talented and innovative mathematics educator. The ideal candidate will have some experience in distance education.
Specific responsibilities of the position include:
Teaching multiple sections of math courses to grades 9-12 (to teach a combination of Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry and the occasional advanced math course)
Designing for synchronous teaching and learning to be delivered remotely
Plan for differentiated, project-based, and student-centered learning
Create, collect, and analyze authentic student data to drive instruction
Assess student work and provide consistent feedback and communication with parents and guardians
Participate in school meetings, professional development, community-building activities
Be committed to student learning, personal growth, and embrace a growth mindset
Bachelors or Masters degree in mathematics or related field
Experience working with special education populations a plus
MSDE Certificate in relevant teaching area a plus
Demonstrated teaching skills and experience, but related experience also considered
Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills
Comfort with technology and social media including a 1:1 laptop program, Google applications, and an online course management system
Genuine excitement for and ability to work with high school students
