The Hockaday School is seeking a full-time physics teacher to be a vibrant member of the faculty for the Upper School beginning in the 2020-2021 school year.
Essential Functions: The Science Department at the Hockaday school encourages young women to understand the world through their own observations, guided inquiry, and effective application of a model-oriented mindset. This position will primarily support our Form I (9th grade, 14-15 yr old) students in their first science course in the Upper School. Opportunities to teach additional courses and to plan courses in the area of the person’s expertise/interest will also be available. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the teacher will be a grade-level student advisor and will embrace the Tenets of Faculty Excellence by being a lifelong learner, striving for continual professional development.
An advanced degree in physics or engineering is preferred.

Teaching experience in physics, ideally in independent schools.
Experience and interest in developing innovative uses of technology in the history classroom as ell as comfort with its administrative use.
