Maintaining alignment between the school’s values, promise, and mission, and all activities of the preschool.
Being the educational leader of the preschool and leading day-to-day operations.
Supervising, coaching, evaluating, and growing teachers to manifest the vision of the school.
Articulating policies, procedures, expectations, behavioral guidelines, and other information necessary to ensure that all stakeholders are fully informed consistent with their individual roles.
Overseeing effective assessment and teaching practices to report meaningful outcomes from the preschool.
Supporting the academic, physical, social, and emotional wellness of the members of our school community and developing and executing plans for meeting these needs.
Coordinating with department chairs, the sponsors of various student organizations and activities, and faculty committees to ensure the student experience embodies the school promise.
Maintaining compliance with all requirements of government regulations and accrediting agencies.
Making recommendations to the Head of Schools about hiring, retention, and the assignment of faculty.
Establishing training and onboarding programs for new teachers, as well as in-service training for all teachers.
Conducting weekly meetings with faculty which will deal both with routine school matters and with the learning objectives and needs of the faculty and staff in the preschool.
Coordinating with after school programs, extra-curricular activities, sports, and other programs to ensure students are safe, happy, and challenged.
Maintaining a comprehensive calendar of school events to keep the middle school community informed of various school programs and activities.
Guiding students’ academic growth through the preschool, ensuring that parents understand student capacities and areas for growth, and overseeing reporting processes and outcomes.
Supporting and enforcing guidelines for student and parent conduct; to maintain student discipline in accordance with school policies; and to communicate with love and candor with parents when discipline issues arise.
Being a visible presence in all areas of the school to be able to solve problems as or before they arise.
Keeping the other members of the administrative team informed of preschool activities and issues, and collaborating with other members of the leadership team to achieve school goals.
Managing re-enrollment for the preschool, and assist the Head of Schools in developing and executing re-enrollment strategies.
Grow a thriving and self-perpetuating school culture reflecting the core values of kindness, compassion, acceptance, excellence, perseverance, and respect, and as amended and elicited by the school community.
Report directly to the Head of Schools.
Minimum 5 years of school leadership experience
BA minimum, MA preferred
