McDonogh School is seeking an energetic, creative and caring fourth grade teacher for August, 2020. This is a 1-year, interim position.
Create a classroom atmosphere that promotes joyful learning and an inclusive, welcoming, purposeful school tone and culture. Training in the Responsive Classroom approach an advantage
Instruct students in literacy and math skills using the Reading and Writing Workshop models and Into Math program
Use technology (Smartboard, Elmo, i-Pads) effectively to enhance and extend instruction

A minimum of 5 years teaching experience in an elementary school setting.
Formal training and qualifications in elementary or early-childhood education.
A positive disposition and ability to function within a highly motivated and fast paced team
A strong work ethic, and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion at all times
Excellent organizational skills
Experience successfully working with a culturally diverse staff & community
Must have proven problem solving skills, be self motivated, and adaptable
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
