Browne Academy is a co-educational school specializing in students 3 years old through 8th grade and located in Alexandria, Virginia. We are seeking full-time Assistant Early Childhood Teachers for the 2020-2021 school year. Assistant teachers are responsible for supporting the academic, social, emotional, and developmental growth of our students. In addition, responsibilities include assisting with the planning and implementation of the daily program under the direction of the lead teacher. Assistant teachers are expected to teach whole group, small group, and individual students.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and experience implementing age appropriate curriculum and educational activities. They should demonstrate the comfortable use of technology in teaching and learning and be fully committed to professional growth. We are looking for someone who believes in the mission and core values of the school while engaging as an active participant in the community. Other qualities include a caring demeanor, flexibility, and a strong work ethic. This is a great opportunity to work in a partnership with an experienced teacher to build one’s pedagogical skills as part of our dynamic Lower School team.
