The Board of Education of the Otselic Valley Central School District announces a vacancy in the position of Superintendent of Schools, effective November 1, 2020. The Board is seeking an educational leader of the highest professional and personal integrity with the following qualifications and profile.
New York State Certification as a School District Administrator
An Instructional Leader who supports staff development and research based practices and is capable of motivating the school community to implement and support the learning standards for all students
A Financial Officer with a working knowledge of school budget construction, fiscal management, capital improvements and a demonstrated ability to balance a sound philosophy of education with the community’s ability to provide economic support
A Long Range Planner who seeks input from the school community stakeholders and supports the shared decision-making process
A Communicator who is capable of developing, articulating, and implementing the District’s goals and plans through written and oral presentations
A willingness to be Visible, Interactive, and Involved with staff, students, parents, and community members
Child-centered and an Advocate for learners and their needs
A Problem Solver who is skilled in identifying and analyzing problems, developing priorities, and implementing practical solutions
The Board has appointed the DCMO BOCES District Superintendent to assist in the search and screening process.
