Squaw Valley Academy seeks to hire a Special Education Teacher to join our team. The goal of the Academic Support Program is to support students through individual and school-wide learning assessments, along with the creation of personalized learning plans. The Special Education Teacher will coordinate with teachers and the Director of Academic Support to support student learning and growth. The Director will also participate in afternoon and some weekend activities with the school and may have an advisory role with some students. Specific responsibilities include:
Coordinate student assessment with the Director of Academic Support
Develop personalized learning plans for students in the Academic Support Program
Support classroom teachers in differentiating instruction
Provide training for teachers in developing student support strategies
Document and maintain student records around assessments and interventions
Support the Academic Dean with curriculum alignment
Coordinate monthly faculty meetings that focus on student support and students of
The ideal candidate will hold an advanced degree in Special Education, educational assessment, or a similar relevant field. Boarding school experience is a plus.
