Garden School, located in Jackson Heights, Queens, seeks an innovative and energetic Art Teacher to join our dynamic instructional team.
Founded in 1923, Garden School approaches its centennial remaining true to its Mission of educating the whole person across a broad curriculum, preparing them to be caring and engaged citizens for the global world. We educate students from Nursery through 12th Grade, with the average class size being 12 to 15 students. Jackson Heights is a thriving neighborhood that boasts a diverse population, readily available public transit, cultural offerings, amazing cuisine, and beautiful architecture. Nearly all graduates attend four-year colleges and universities with students enrolling at Princeton, Cal-Berkeley, UCLA, University of Rochester, Brown, Columbia, Wesleyan, Emory, and Wellesley in just the past three years.
Those applying for the position should be experienced with studio art, art appreciation, and art history for students of varying ages and abilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for art and art instruction. A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
