The Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is responsible for leading the school’s diversity, equity, and inclusion work with all constituencies, both on and off campus.
With school leadership, advance a strategic vision for diversity, equity, and inclusion for all faculty, staff, students, families, and alumni
Partner with the Assistant Head of School, Department Chairs, Division Heads, and faculty to evaluate, advise, and support the development of a diverse and inclusive curriculum for grades 3-12
In conjunction with the Head of School, Assistant Head of School, and Division Heads, develop proactive strategies and practices for recruiting and retaining a diverse faculty and staff
Partner with the Director of Admissions, Outreach, and Enrollment to recruit, welcome, and retain students from diverse backgrounds
Develop programming for all constituencies, including students, faculty, parent associations, and current and prospective families on issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion
In consultation with the Assistant Head of School and Division Heads, along with administrators from Landon’s sister school (Holton-Arms), create, identify, and promote professional development opportunities for all members of the faculty and staff
Provide support, resources, and guidance for all members of the school community, including students from diverse backgrounds and international students
Work with the Director of Alumni Relations to create a proactive approach to engaging alumni from diverse backgrounds
Serve on the school’s senior administrative team?
Landon operates on the teacher-coach-mentor model so the most desirable candidates will be able to contribute to the life of the school through teaching a class, coaching a sport, and/or serving as an advisor.
A Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred
Experience working with and leading faculty in diversity related matters
A commitment to Landon’s mission statement and an appreciation for an all-boys educational setting
High degree of emotional intelligence and cultural competency
Proven ability to build programming and structures that further school goals
Proficient, organized, detail-oriented and capable manager of people, program, and budgets
Skillful communicator – in both writing and speech – and facility in the use of current technologies
Demonstrated ability to work with others, including students and families from a variety of backgrounds
