Position Title: Humanities Teacher, Residential Faculty
Perkiomen School seeks a full-time Humanities Teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. Working closely with other members of the English and History departments, this teacher will be responsible for classroom instruction, communication with students and parents as well as student advisors, and remaining current on best practices in education. Comfort and ability to connect with both Upper School and Middle School students is required.
Teaching 5 assigned sections within the English and History Department;
Teaching various levels of English and History instruction including 12th grade Senior English in the Upper School and Middle School United States History;
Writing grade comments on students;
Writing recommendations to college and various enrichment programs on behalf of individual students;
Serving the school’s after school program for two terms as either a coach or program leader;
Serving the school’s residential and student life program one weeknight per week and one weekend per month;
Serving as an advisor to a select number of students.
Serving as a club leader as part of our Lunch Period Enrichment program.

Bachelor of Arts degree in English, History, or equivalent
Experience teaching and working closely with adolescents of various ages
Ability to serve in the School’s co-curricular program as a coach or program leader
Excellent communication skills
Ability to support the residential life needs of a boarding school community
