We are seeing an experienced and highly motivated Lower School Head Teacher in one of our First Grade classrooms for the 2020-2021 school year.

A First Grade Head Teacher provides general classroom instruction to approximately 18students and is an advisor to class families. One of the chief roles of a Head Teacher in the Lower School at Packer is mentoring a full-time Associate Teacher in the classroom. Lower School Head Teachers are responsible for planning and implementing literacy, math, and social studies curriculum and for helping to create and sustain a safe, inclusive classroom community.
Lower School Head Teachers should be eager to engage in ongoing collaboration with colleagues on the grade level team, specialist area teachers, and administration. An ideal candidates must demonstrate a warm and inviting personality and have excellent interpersonal skills.
A Master’s Degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education is required and previous head teaching experience is highly preferred.
