The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the golf course with course staff management, maintenance and upkeep of the golf course, irrigation system, maintenance of perimeter of course.
Key areas of responsibility include:
The Superintendent will be expected to perform the following general duties based upon knowledge achieved through experience and education:
Work with the Assistant Superintendent in daily operations.
Supervise daily the crew activities to include the training and proper operation of the golf maintenance equipment
Plans and executes all planned agronomic programs, maintenance and the scheduling of all employees
Required to perform and assist in daily maintenance procedures including work on the golf course. For example: Course Set-up for play, Hand watering, Mowing, Irrigation scheduling and repairs, Spraying etc.
Required to work Weekends and Holidays
Performs spraying on the golf course of Pesticides, Fertility applications and any other products as necessary.
Set-up Irrigation Schedules, Repair and Audit the Irrigation computer and all hardware components in the field
Skills / Qualifications:
· 6-10+ years’ experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or 1st Assistant
· Demonstrated mechanical maintenance experience
· 2-year Degree or Certificate in Turf Management (or related field, like agronomy, horticulture, plant science, soil science)
· Valid Driver's License and successful Background Check REQUIRED
· Pesticide Application License REQUIRED
· Membership in the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America
Must possess the experience and education necessary to train staff in General Labor, Machine operator, Spray technician, Irrigation Technician and Mechanic.
Knowledge of golf through play is preferred
