This position provides a high-quality early childhood program and promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children.
Managing the early childhood classroom including: creating a welcoming environment; providing a safe classroom and playground environment; setting daily schedule; preparing developmental lesson plans; directing children in developmental activities; organizing and participating in games, songs, and other activities; teaching readiness skills; planning and conducting field trips; dispensing medicine; serving snacks and meals.
Observing and evaluating children's cognitive, social, perceptual motor, emotional well-being, personal awareness, and communications; keeping ongoing developmental records; determining developmental goals for children, including children with disabilities; participating in M-team meeting for children with disabilities.
Coordinating field experiences of students in classroom by modeling appropriate interactions and teaching strategies; bridging theory and practice for students; guiding interactions between students and children; making presentations at classes; evaluating students; providing written information and resources.
Supporting families of enrolled children by conducting pre-enrollment visiting with parents of new children; conducting parent-teacher conferences.
Supervising staff, volunteers and students.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Ability to provide a high quality early childhood program; effective communication skills, both oral and written; must be able to dispense medication according to directions; ability to evacuate children and adults from building in less than one minutes; ability to distinguish individual facial features at arm's length and across the room; must be able to distinguish children's voices when out of visual range; must be able to climb playground equipment to remove child from setting; and must be able to distinguish colors.
