Middle School Social Studies Teacher Full-Time Beginning Late August 2020
Position: Middle School Social Studies - Grades 5/6 Reports to: Middle School Division Head FLSA: Exempt, full-time
The Middle School Social Studies position is a full time position. The faculty member is responsible for teaching the 5th grade History as Inquiry and the 6th grade course Progress? or Progress? Evaluating Change. The 6th grade course examines changes through three main patterns: trade, slavery and leadership. Both courses develop students understanding of history from multiple perspectives and use primary sources to enhance the students analytical and critical thinking skills. The social studies teacher also has 6th grade homeroom duties and is an important member of the Middle School community. Undergraduate history major, Masters Degree and 2-3 years of experience preferred.
