The Academy of Notre Dame de Namur, an independent Catholic school for girls located in Villanova, Pennsylvania, seeks a full-time Mathematics teacher for the 2020-21 school year. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and student-centered individual versed in current trends and emerging ideas in education. This candidate will inspire students to learn mathematics, be enthusiastic about faith-based girls’ education, have a familiarity with instructional technology, and enjoy working within a team setting of shared ideas and constructive feedback. He or she should be passionate about teaching mathematics and be able to relate concepts and principles to students' everyday lives. He or she must be a team player with initiative, good judgment, and solid problem-solving and communication skills.
The Mathematics teacher:
Teaches 1 section each of Algebra I, Expanded Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Trigonometry/Logic/Statistics
Creates and delivers engaging math curricula
Establishes a culture of positive communication with students, colleagues, and parents; responds to messages and inquiries in a timely manner
Has a willingness to teach remotely
Creates an inclusive classroom/work environment
Maintains a safe, orderly and supportive classroom
A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or related subject, Master’s degree preferred
3+ years of middle or upper school teaching
Demonstrated knowledge of subject content, curriculum, and methodology of effective
Skilled in the use of instructional technologies to enhance learning and deliver content online
High degree of cultural competency and commitment to girls’ education
