Description: The Bassett Unified School District seeks an energetic, dynamic candidate for District Superintendent. This individual must be invigorated by cultural diversity and an experienced leader to continue improving student achievement through the collaboration of local and state government, district administration, teachers, parents and community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Establish key contacts for the District; keep Board informed at all times
Build consensus with Board of Trustees
Develop plans to improve student achievement
Set the tone for high expectations
Promote an atmosphere to encourage Principal leadership
Listen and respond to parent concerns
Share all budget information, listens to employee concerns
Focus attention and continue to build on partnerships with community organizations
Promote joint agreements with city government
Focus on external/community/business issues
Empower employees and build trust in the District
Enhance language development and instruction for English Language Learners
Assess the status of standard based programs
Recommend Board Policies and Administrative Regulations related to District programs
Implement an evaluation process for District programs
Provide education program for parents
Knowledge and Abilities:
Visible, approachable, and able to comfortably interact with students, staff, and the community
Will listen to and communicate openly with students, staff, and the community
Be creative in looking at district financial resources and how they are allocated to schools
Ability and willingness to establish strong relationship with the Board of Trustees, staff, and community

Will provide direction and maintain a strong focus on instruction

Administrative services credential.
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university (Doctorate Preferred)
Classroom teaching experience
Minimum (5) five years of successful administrative experience, preferably including site and central office levels.
