St. Andrew’s Episcopal School seeks to hire a full-time, innovative, collaborative, and knowledgeable remote/online teacher with responsibilities to begin mid-September 2020 and last through mid-November 2020 with a possibility of extending further into the school year. Preferred candidates will be enthusiastic and passionate about teaching elementary aged students in a progressive learning community, with a professional orientation for daily collaborative work, team communication and continued professional development. Candidates are expected to have favorable attitudes or prior knowledge for project-based instruction, social emotional learning, responsive classroom, technology integration, curriculum development, differentiation, effective parent communication, reflective practice and leveraging asynchronous and synchronous modes of instruction on-line. Regarding technology competencies, the selected candidate will utilize Zoom, Seesaw, and the Otus Learning Management System on a daily basis, and thus successful candidates must either have previous experience with these technologies, or a willingness to develop expert-level skills and knowledge of these technologies. Finalists are expected to be familiar with responsive instruction to student inquiry, cognitively guided instruction, balanced literacy instruction, writer’s workshop and the facilitation of student-led portfolio conferencing. The ideal candidate will celebrate reflective practice around matters of diversity, equity, and inclusion in educational environments. The individual selected for this position will be expected to engage, motivate, assess and develop student learning while managing the remote classroom activities for up to 18 students, including the daily instruction of language arts, science, mathematics and social studies in developmentally appropriate ways using both asynchronous and synchronous modes of instruction..
