Lakeside School, an independent 5-12 coeducational day school located in North Seattle is currently recruiting for Blended Learning Teaching Assistants for the 2020-2021 school year.
Responsibilities Teaching assistants are used as an in-person support to teachers instructing remotely on an as needed basis. Teaching assistants are not to be considered substitutes who would teach the class in the teacher’s absence. Class syllabus and teaching materials will be created and support from the department will be provided as needed. Teaching assistants may sometimes be asked to monitor study halls. Duties will include:
On-campus classroom instructional and technical support.
Execution of the teacher's lesson plans.
Ensuring the safety and proper conduct of students while in the classroom.
Participation in the life of the school community.
Requirements and Qualifications
21 years or older.
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office, Google Apps, and basic hardware related to remote teaching (web cameras, speakers, etc.)
Demonstrated cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the cultural lenses they bring to interactions. The candidate will understand different perspectives; interact respectfully with cultures other than their own; and cultivate meaningful relationships with people that have different cultural frameworks.
Candidates must satisfactorily complete two comprehensive background checks.
Compensation $147 per day
