Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School seeks a long-term substitute Spanish teacher (with possibility to extend position) to teach high school-level Spanish languages classes to grades 8-12.
Teach sections of Introductory Spanish (Grade 8), Spanish I, and Spanish III.
Foster an understanding and appreciation for Spanish language and culture.
Provide meaningful, individualized feedback and support to empower students and to promote their continual growth as readers, writers, and speakers of Spanish.
Work closely with colleagues, the department head, and prep school administration to support the academic, social, and emotional well being of all students.
7:30am-3:30pm Monday through Friday
In-school, hybrid instruction will begin 10/13 (for students)
Weekly faculty and department meetings until 4:30pm
Start date: October 1, 2020 (or sooner, if possible)

Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or related discipline. An Education degree is preferred.
Ability to adapt instruction to fit physically distanced, hybrid, and remote learning environments.
Run well-managed, meaningful, and engaging classes for beginner, intermediate, and advanced high school Spanish students.
Experience teaching at the high school level is preferred.
