Assist the Superintendent and Senior Assistant with all aspects of golf course maintenance and agronomic practices, including but not limited to: golf course setup, mowing, fertilizer and chemical applications; irrigation management, troubleshooting, and repair; tree removal, snow removal, golf course construction projects, and more.
Help with planning and implementation of golf course projects, cultural practices, and landscape improvements.
Keep accurate records pertaining to all fertilizer and pesticide applications.
Assistants are encouraged to become active members of the GCSAA and GCSA of New York.
2 or 4 year degree or certificate in turf management program from an accredited university preferred.
Current students close to graduation will be considered as well.
1 - 2 years of verifiable on course work experience.
The ability to obtain a NY Pesticide Applicators license.
The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and strong work ethic, be a self starter and a team player, and have a strong desire to learn and grow within the organization.
Attention to detail and a sense of urgency are extremely desirable traits of applicants.
