Bayfront Friends Academy is Covid pod of 2 families committed to student-focused education. We are looking for a certified teacher for our 5, 8 and 9 year old children. We are seeking a teacher to engage our children in learning for the duration of the Covid-19 pandemic. We encourage Socratic thinking,hands on learning, outdoor activity, mistakes and humor.

Provide and support deeply engaging learning experiences.
Design, develop, and deliver lessons focused on learning targets aligned with Bayfront Friends Academy’s mission, expedition themes, and standards.
Create a rich culture of grace and courtesy in the classroom. Model and teach appropriate conflict resolution and problem-solving strategies.
Maintain a warm, engaging classroom environment in school and home setting.
Plan and implement individual and small group lessons, based scope & sequence and observations of student needs & interests as well grade level curriculum
Build strong, collaborative relationships with parents
Maintain consistent record-keeping of lessons and student progress
Communicate effectively with colleagues and school leaders
Model a positive work ethic and sense of humor
Anticipated teaching hours are Monday - Friday, 9 am - 2 pm, with opportunity for additional hours based on creative ideas. There is a potential option for extended school year depending on pandemic situation.
We live on the bay in Brick, New Jersey. We enjoy a number of water sports and active outside lifestyle. Candidate must take Covid-19 precautions seriously in their own home and personal life. On campus housing is provided as part the compensation package.

Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in applicable field
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Spanish fluency, both spoken and written, highly preferred
Enthusiasm and commitment to child centered education that enables each child to develop to their full potential
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Technological literacy and familiarity with GSuite apps (gmail, calendar, classroom, docs)
Knowledgeable, resourceful, and confident developing and implementing curriculum
Flexibility to embrace change, adapt to new situations and plan collaboratively with family
Valid driver’s license
Back ground check & Finger printing
