The George Mason University Child Development Center invites applications for an entry-level Assistant Teacher position. The Assistant Teacher assists the classroom Teacher in planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate program, and assumes responsibility for the children in the group in the absence of the Teacher.
High school degree and completion of or working on a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential issued by The Council for Professional Recognition or a minimum of 12 college credits in Early Childhood Education;
Demonstrated experience working with children of preschool age;
CPR, First Aid preferred, but may be completed after employment;
Fingerprinting and a sex offender background check will also be conducted.
An Associate’s degree or higher in early childhood education (ECE) and one year of classroom experience in an early childhood setting.
Salary: Salary commensurate with education and experience.
