Ravenscroft School is seeking a master teacher who is a passionate, enthusiastic, hard working positive role model to join our Physical Education Department.
Paramount to fulfilling our mission is the commitment to nurturing a young person’s individual potential. Our Physical Education teacher must have an in-depth understanding of teaching physical education to Lower School and Middle School aged students and be committed to our educational approach to comprehensive student support (we call Lead from Here) in their growth and learning.
He or she must prioritize relationship building with colleagues, students, and their families. Collaboration will include being able to establish an effective working relationship with the Associate Head of School for Academics and Student Life and the Chairs of Physical Education. He or she must be able to exercise good judgment and comply with school standards as they relate to faculty conduct.
The duties will include teaching physical education in both Lower School and Middle School
Working cooperatively with other physical education teachers in planning and implementing a comprehensive physical education program
Establish and maintain standards of excellence for supervision and student engagement
Collaborate with classroom teachers and administration as needed regarding social, emotional, and physical development of students
Plan and ensure that curriculum and lessons are designed to meet the needs of multiple levels of skill and a wide range of learners
Flexibility to work in a wide variety of settings and shared facilities
Coaching sports in at least two seasons
Candidates will work under the supervision of the Lower School PE Department Chair, the Middle School PE Department Chair, and the Associate Head of School for Academics and Student Life

An undergraduate degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science and/or Health is required. Physical education teaching experience is essential.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with faculty team members are of paramount importance.

CPR certification and first aid training are required.
