We have an exciting opening in our Middle School program effective immediately. The ideal candidate will have a MACTE Adolescence I credential. However, consideration will also be given to non-Montessori trained applicants, or candidates currently pursuing MACTE credentialing. This is a great opportunity to join a well-established program in an accredited school.
The right candidate is a team-player and enthusiastic proponent of the Montessori Method or has the curiosity to learn about how Montessori schools work with adolescents. The candidate can be a recent graduate (or about to graduate), or an experienced teacher looking to expand their leadership skills in an independent school setting. Ideally, the candidate would have experience and a record of success teaching high school level math courses (Algebra and Geometry) as well as English/Language Arts.
Our program is taught by two Middle School guides and cocurricular instructors devoted to offering our students an intellectually stimulating curriculum, and opportunities for socio-emotional and leadership development including entrepreneurship, job internships, field trips, participation in MMUN, and other age-appropriate social outlets. We are currently operating with restrictions designed to minimize the spread of COVID-19, which may include delivering some classes on-line via synchronous and asynchronous methods.
Compensation based on experience.
Please send a copy of your resume and a cover letter describing why you are interested in pursuing this opportunity at Mountaintop Montessori. Please send correspondence to Patricia Colby, Head of School (firstname.lastname@example.org).
