The Siena School seeks a Head of Online Education to lead Siena’s online teaching and learning. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and management of all online classes.
Siena is one of the nation’s leading independent schools serving children with dyslexia and language-based learning differences. The school is located just outside Washington, DC in Silver Spring, Maryland. In response to the current pandemic, Siena has established significant online instructional capabilities and course delivery, for both the school’s main programs (grades 4-12) and also for virtual tutoring. The Head of Online Education will continue the ongoing growth and development of Siena’s online and distance education programs.
5+ years successful school leadership (head, asst. head, etc.) with supervisory responsibility
Highly proficient with online/distance education and instructional technology
Expertise in dyslexia/language-based learning differences (preferred); or demonstrated commitment to students who learn differently, and multi-sensory and project-based teaching strategies
Proven ability to recruit, lead, manage, and develop a high-performing team
Effective communicator, collaborator, and problem-solver who can develop a strong faculty and parent community, and build effective professional and community relationships
Ability to develop and successfully manage a budget, and other school operations
An interest and aptitude for a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
Reflective, growth-oriented, leader with high drive for excellence
Master’s or advanced degree preferred (Online/Distance Education, special education, LD, etc.)
Telecommuting is allowed.

The Siena School has become a national leader in educating bright, college-bound students with mild to moderate language-based learning differences. With growing enrollment of 130+ students in grades 4-12, including 40% students of color, the school has completed a new wing, increasing capacity to over 150 students.
