The Operations & Academic Affairs Manager for the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing is responsible for independently managing, planning and administering the operations and academic affairs function of the school. Reporting to the Assistant Dean, the incumbent will assist in performing short- and long-term planning for the school, assessing its needs as they relate to daily office operations, facilities and information technology. The position will also have oversight of the school's academic affairs function, acting as the content expert and advising school leadership on academic practices, policies, and procedures. The incumbent is expected to support HR-related issues including processing of new faculty and staff internal onboarding and working collaboratively with COHS human resources and payroll to resolve HR and payroll issues.
Experience in academic personnel within UCI preferred
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Requires thorough knowledge of and ability to apply / interpret organization and college policies and procedures which govern academic HR. Solid knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs. Excellent critical and innovative thinking to address moderately complex issues and present nuanced analyses. Thorough knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and / or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees. Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality. Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills. Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service. Knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, risk management planning, payroll, and space planning
Master's degree in related area preferred
